Forgiveness is a challenging topic for most and it’s natural to feel the hurt and pain of what somebody said or did to us whether it’s last week or years ago. When we think of forgiveness we think thoughts of ‘pay back’ and the feeling of if you forgive them then they’re off the hook for what they did.
I used to think in that way until I started studying with the School of Metaphysics and realized that forgiveness was setting me free from the past instead of others. This was a bit confusing in the beginning and then the penny dropped that while I was caught up in all these emotions the person who had hurt me was getting on with their lives…what a turnaround to what I’d believed all these years!!
Now saying that forgiveness isn’t easy and it can take a while as we often have different layers we need to work through. The first step is to be willing and open then we can start to shift some energy regarding the situation. The invitation is to look at where you’re maybe stuck in the hurt of past events and it may even be stopping you moving forward in present day life.
