Feel the Fear

Fear is something that pushes us forward or can hold us back…which category do you fall into? Fear can play a big part in our lives especially when we have a low image of ourselves. What are we afraid of….people might reject us, abandon us? Fear can sneak up when we least expect it in our lives and almost stop us doing things…it’s like this black cloak that covers us, keeps us awake at night and make us doubt ourselves.

Maybe if we looked ta fear in a different way to help us and push us forward. Fear can be the friend that guides us and the invitation is to be where we are with fear and face it instead of getting rid of it. By gently facing the fear it starts to lose power. Most of us try and get over our fears too quickly e.g. fear of heights so we go and do a sky dive!! It might work but what can also be more effective it to do it in baby steps e.g. watch a video on a view from a tower or going out on a roof terrace that’s not too high?
